The ROAD TRIP

Picture
As previously mentioned, the Sydney to Ayers Rock - "ROCK OPERA" Motorcycle Tour - is not for the inexperienced rider.
By the end of this epic voyage, you will have experienced oceans and mountains. Cities and country towns, freeways and winding roads, sunshine and rain. blue skies and desert heat. By rides end, you will have truly earned your vest and be taking home the memories of One of the Great Rides of a Lifetime.

SUPPORT VEHICLE

An absolute must, for the journey. We carry your luggage whilst on tour so you can ride light. Luggage will be unloaded for you at each Hotel and loaded again on departure. We also provide Cold Bottled Water and room in the esky for some of your favorites. The SV can be used for shelter in case of severe weather and as a "Time Out" for a weary pillion.
It is equipped with a First Aid Kit, Safety Gear and a basic Tool Kit.

ROAD CONDITIONS

With the exception of any roadworks we may encounter, all roads on the tour are sealed and are in good condition.
We try to avoid touring in the months where ice may form on the mountain roads down south.
We will most likely encounter some rain, wind, sunshine, cold mountain air and dry desert heat.
Always be aware that pot holes can appear on any road and will be encountered along the way.
CITY  Traffic can be congested and a challenge at times, whereas in the Country and in the Outback.
you can ride for miles without seeing anyone.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Please ensure you have ADEQUATE TRAVEL INSURANCE that fully covers MOTORCYCLISTS for the duration of your adventure.

WHAT TO WEAR

Picture
There is no need to travel light. TRUE BLUE MOTORCYCLE ADVENTURES provide a SUPPORT VEHICLE to accommodata your travel luggage. Also for an occasional pillion break if required.
Be sure to have the right gear for the tour.

LEATHER RIDING JACKET  -  VEST -  WARM RIDING GLOVES - BOOTS - GOGGLES/GLASSES
Australian Approved AS/NZS 1698 or an ECE22.05 European Standards HELMET - ( we recommend one with a clear drop down visor )
WARM weather wear - COLD weather clothing - THERMAL GEAR    and    WET WEATHER GEAR.
For the cooler legs of the tour, we recommend  the LAYER system to keep warm.

In the Outback to " Beat the Heat, " a favorite trick is to wear a wet T shirt under your jacket to cool you down. We have ample ice and water on board the Support Vehicle for both "Drinkin" and "Coolin".
